Dhanalakshmi's story:

Dhana is entering fourth year of her Nursing studies. Dhana is a determined student, who is up at 5am to study - goes to college from 9am to 6pm -- then studies again until bedtime at 10pm.

Dhana`s father is unable to keep a job, and her mother holds the family together by purchasing seasonal fruit and vegetables and reselling them on the roadside. What a long way this young woman has come, from the slums, the daughter of illiterate parents, who is now preparing herself to be of service to her community through nursing.

Dhana writes: `Because of you my stopped education began again…without your support I can`t imagine my life.’
