Eileen is no stranger to the field of international development. She has lived in India, Zambia, Ghana and Costa Rica while working for an array of organizations including Ashoka’s Changemakers, Engineers Without Borders Canada, the Canadian Development Agency and the World Bank Youth Network. Eileen also founded a now registered Charity, SEED Canada. Eileen was born and raised in Ecuador and holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Latin American Human Rights and Public Policy from the Henry Dunant School of Human Rights in Chile and an Honors B.A. from McMaster University, Canada.Eileen Knowles - Executive Director
Passionate about building scalable, intelligently designed enterprises with global impact, Shawn teaches social entrepreneurship at Simon Fraser University. He is the co-founder of several successful organizations, including Education Generation, Global Agents, the Equilibrium Partnership and Radiant Carbon Offsets. His ventures and consulting touch on Europe, Africa, South America, North America and Asia. Shawn is a graduate of Simon Fraser University and holds an MBA from Oxford where he attended as a Skoll Scholar in Social Entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Serbia, Mila is very grateful for all of the opportunities that she has experienced in Canada and she is very passionate about being able to help others. Mila strongly believes in the power of education and in Education Generation’s philosophy and she is very excited to be able to help Education Generation unleash the potential of youth from all over the world! Mila holds a First Class Honors Bachelor of Science degree with a joint major in Business Administration and Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Simon Fraser University and has worked as a Management Consultant at Accenture. Amy lives each day to the fullest and makes the absolute most out of every opportunity. She loves to travel and is always on the go pursuing the next adventure. She enjoys activities such as tennis, golf, and skiing and has a secret love for traveling to watch live sporting events—especially tennis. During her time at Simon Fraser University where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration, she co-founded the International Business Association, went on exchange to Thailand, worked for the Business Faculty, but most importantly built relationships with friends she holds near and dear to her heart. Amy is currently working as a Manager for GWL Realty Advisors and is a passionate about the real estate industry. Christina is a firm believer in life-long learning through travel and all kinds of new experiences. She is excited to see young learners exploring the world and gaining the skills they need to succeed through Education Generation’s community. Christina is a co-founder of local Vancouver non-profit Global Agents, and has implemented award-winning marketing communication campaigns on behalf of the organization. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University with a joint major in Communication. Zaya joined the Education Generation team back in 2008 during its early development stages, and has worked on a number of projects since, such as the initial set-up of the fellowship program, which she piloted in Peru in 2009. She is a strong believer in the power of education and is passionate and excited about Education Generation and its mission. Originally from Kazakhstan and a world nomad at heart, she has lived, worked and studied in 5 countries across 3 continents; most recently residing in London, where she worked as an M&A advisor at PwC. Jasmine received an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and a Certificate in International Experiential Learning from Simon Fraser University. While earning her degree, Jasmine had the opportunity to work in Scotland and study abroad in Austria and China. This has allowed her to develop a huge passion for exploring different countries and learning about different cultures – she has visited over 30 countries so far, and has no plans to stop! Having taken so much away from her experiences in the classroom and around the world, Jasmine is excited about being involved with Education Generation to allow high potential students the opportunity to access quality education.
